TESTIMONIALS
From a young woman in Uganda:
Thank you very much for sending me back to school and because I know without your love and support I would be out in the world wondering about my future. To be sincere, life out of school prematurely is very traumatizing. I remember before you took me back to school, I could not stop imaging why it was me who was becoming a school dropout. Every thing that was happening was strange being that I was not used to looking for ways of satisfying my needs. The trauma I experienced took away all the little joy I had and the moments I always shared with my friends while I was in school. I could not stand seeing other children going to school as I was heading for my work place to do some odd jobs so as to earn a living. Those were days I will live to remember. Can you imagine! I have finished my Examinations! This is a dream come true.
I am very proud to say that it was you who made me a very good student, by helping me find the best time for learning and I know a better future is waiting for me. I am now waiting for my results and I have faith that I will be joining a Nursing Training School, which will place me in a position and a good place of work for the whole of my life. By the way, you have made me a hero of my country, because many female students who dropped out of school at an early age tend to give up. But with your support and love, I have managed to reach the end of my O- Level stage and this is not a bad stage at all.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALL THE LOVE, COMPASSION, COURAGE AND SUPPORT. I have been honored and blessed to be your daughter and my best friend. Believe me you have not denied me any thing in life, which has made my studies very enjoyable and smooth.
God Bless you,
O.N.
Headmaster of School in Uganda
Hope you are doing well and in good health. Thank God I have spared sometime to write to you this small note. In today’s mail I just wanted to express my sincere thanks for what you have done to our mother Country Uganda. Building a nation does really involve providing Education to the young people in the nation. You have decided to send 4 orphans back to school, which makes you one of our main stakeholders in our Country.
A friend of mine once said ‘those who live unselfishly, are those who have a life that is most worth living’
Actually this is true for the entire world and you have set a very good example by helping Orphans in Uganda, a Country very far from yours. This means that in this world we are all one and we should co operate with each other in making the world a better place to live. Every day I read about people dying from illness that is curable and does not cost much, yet we do nothing to help each other. It is time that all Countries and people woke up especially those with some money to spare a little and the rich Countries and learn something about how to share. I sincerely do not know if you and I will see this happen in our life time, but if we each do a little to help others, I can promise you that it will help.
Your daughter Olyvia (one sponsored student) is a bright girl and I have always insisted that if she were given a chance of joining school again people would notice the potential she has. Today I am glad to inform you that she is already in school doing her Nursing Course and I am very sure that she will make it and in the end help others.
Thank you once again for being a good friend to Uganda and a good example to all of good will.
Kind regards, S.D.
