First, Compassion Care will help provide a child for you to sponsor, a girl, boy, or both. If you want an entire family, that is also a great endeavor, and there are families who definitely need "a family" to help them rise above poverty and loss of hope. After you make the decision to sponsor a child, or family, you will be provided with name and address so that you can be in touch directly and keep up with their progress and life. This child, or family, will also stay in touch with you, using the extra funds you provide for paper, pens, envelopes, and postage. You can be, and will be, directly involved in their life even though it is long distance. They know who you are, and you know who they are, making it a personal situation for all involved. Your contribution will be handled through Compassion Care, thus enabling you to use your contribution for tax purposes. However, once you make the committment, you will be in touch with the child or family you chose to sponsor. When we say family - we mean some one like this: a mother, with several children, without any means of earning an income, but doing the best she can to feed them, cloth them and give them all the love she can. A particular mother, as an example, is living in a village in Uganda, with 7 children, 6 of whom are deaf and dumb. The father/husband left her several years ago accusing her of giving birth to these un-perfect children, as though he had nothing to do with it. The mother has no education (coming from a poverty family herself), yet she loves her children deeply. She has made a small garden in which to raise some food to take care of her family. At harvest time, she dries and stores some of the food for the dry season when nothing grows. The children each have one set of clothing, but no shoes. She does the absolute best she can, with nothing but love, to raise and protect her children. Such a family definitely can use assistance, where it be one child, or the entire family that you care to give aid to.
